CLEMENTINES AND ORANGE PRODUCERS AND MARKETERS
Citrics Terres de l’Ebre SAT is a company of county citrus producers, whose clementines and oranges are grown in the Ebro lands.
In 2008, during a period of financial crisis, a group of farmers joined forces to market their own products and reach the final consumer.
The marketing of citrus fruits from tree to consumer must be carried out as fast as possible. Now our farmers produce and distribute their clementines altogether.
Our producer company has been awarded different quality certifications regarding to the quality of our products, our workers’ conditions, and seasonal production and marketing.
Our premises are located in Campredó (Baix Ebre county council), at 53 Escola Street, just 2 kilometers from Tortosa-l’Aldea highway. The warehouse is located just next to the largest of the supply partners grove, which reduces the transport time from the field. Furthermore, its proper location makes it easier to reach the main roads to go to France, or also to the docks in Tarragona, Castelló and València.
The warehouse surface is 4,785 square meters and the surrounding plot is 25,765 square meters.
As for the warehouse, it was built for packaging citrus fruits with the latest technology in machinery to achieve two clear objectives, high product quality and quick distribution to destination. The warehouse is adapted to all the environmental and compliance requirements of the current new food safety regulations.
Our clementine and orange groves are located in Baix Ebre and Montsià county councils, in Tarragona province. These fields with their citrus fruits were included in the Biosphere Reserve, both a natural and human space established by UNESCO in 2013.
These large-scale farms allow us to homogenize crops in our 675 cultivated hectares. The SAT members are responsible for production control, but they must also follow strict rules in order to achieve the best results in all farms.
We have got so many clementine and orange varieties to cover the whole year round. Although, we must admit that our star variety, clemenules (clementine the Nules), get picked from early November to January. The optimal picking period depends on crop conditions and the climate.
The best period for clementine and orange consumption is winter. They have got plenty of vitamin C, but also important minerals (calcium, magnesium, potassium) to definitely contribute to care for our organism with unique flavor.
